PROGRAMME FOR 2020

January 10 Singers/open evening
We are starting the year with a non-guest evening . This will give our local performers a chance to stand up in front of the audience and show us what they can do.

February 14 No Small Thing
Liss and Steve Messenger are a popular local duo. Liss's main instrument is the violin while Steve works wonders on the guitar. They have recently added a third member to their band - Eugene on bass. They play a wide range of material from the more traditional to modern. We look forward to hearing the new version of 'No Small Thing'!

March 13 Cajun Boogaloo
Cajun Boogaloo are Geoff Chapman, Lesley Shatwell and Bob Shatwell. Their material covers Country, Cajun, Old Time, Bluegrass and Folk Roots. They play violin, double bass and guitar. Last time they performed at Hawley they had some of the audience up dancing - so be warned, it could happen again!

April 10 CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE
POPPY'S WILL BE CLOSED WHILST CORONAVIRUS RESTRICTIONS APPLY.
The following 2020 Programme will be put on IF and WHEN restrictions are lifted.

June 12 TBC Geoff Fox
Geoff is a fine guitarist as well as playing (and occasionally building!) other stringed instruments. His material is mainly blues and American based and he is a very entertaining performer. We are delighted to feature him at the club.

June 22-26 BOARSBRIDGE FESTIVAL
Even if Poppy's remains closed during June due to Coronavirus, we hope we will be able to see many of you at Boars Bridge Festival if, as planned, this outdoor festival is able to go ahead

July 10 TBC Singers/open evening

September 11 TBC Jim McLean
Jim is always a popular performer at the club. He is a fine guitarist and his material covers a wide range of musical styles. There will no doubt be lots of chances to sing along at times. It will be lovely to welcome Jim back to the club as our guest.

October 9 TBC Sue Graves and friends
Sue has one of the loveliest voices on the folk scene. As well as being a solo artist she also performs with the folk band Suntrap. Tonight she will be bringing along a selection of musical friends to perform with her. Should be a wonderful evening of music.

November 13 TBC

December 11 TBC Christmas party
No guests this evening. There are always lots of local performers, some of whom sing seasonal songs, but this is not compulsory. A small contribution to the food table is always welcome.
