Behaviour and Presentation

Preparation is the best way to reduce the fear factor. Try to appear confident and enthusiastic both when talking about yourself and when answering questions about the job itself. If you believe that you can do the job and that you really want it, then this will help the prospective employer to think the same. Speak clearly, don't waffle and keep smiling
Dress approriately smart, have a bath and get your hair cut
Do:
- Maintain eye contact
- Shake hands firmly
- Keep your chin up
- Place your hands with the fingertips touching together
Avoid appearing nervous, arrogant, bored or aggressive. Rubbing your nose can often be read as a sign of self-doubt.
First impressions count - smile and be polite to everyone you come into contact with. Wait until you are well out of sight before you light a fag.
The Interview
Top BottomKnow who will be doing the interview and try to understand why they are there. When answering a question, begin with eye contact with the person who asked the question, then establish contact with the other interviewers as you continue your answer. Don't flit from one interviewer to the other - establish good eye contact with each in equal measure. When the interview ends, make sure you thank everyone.
