painting holiday course which I and my wife Barbara and friends Alec and Sandra attended in early May. Two of us were painting but Barbara and Alec biked or walked, built walls or worked on an Opera production coming up in October. The accommodation was in a charming old Perigordian farmhouse which is in the process of being restored, rebuilt and improved - a never ending task, it seems. The journey there was incredibly simple. Hopped on a suburban train at Windsor into Waterloo, changed platforms onto the Eurostar, did the same at Lille on to the TGV to Bordeaux. We got off at Libourne, just before Bordeaux, and caught a local train to Lilande, where Simon was waiting with a mini bus to collect us and two others who were also on the same train. | ||
