DGS Atari 8-bit CD-ROM

This is a CD comprising commercial software for the Atari XL/XE range of computers, along with an extensive library of PD software. It contains software published by DGS in the UK, PPP of Germany, and Rambit UK. The software is supplied in both DCM (Disk Communicator) format for transferring to and running on the original Atari computers (extra software or hardware required to do this, most of which is available free on the internet), and ATR format for use with many readily available PC Atari XL/XE emulators, some of which are free and available on the internet.

• The Quick programming language V2.2 and V2.1 with 2 support disks
• Screen Aided Management (SAM) v1.25i 80-col desktop system with Budget spreadsheet, Designer DTP package, and Extra Utilities
• 4 PPP Games: Bombi, Rubberball, Glaggs It!, and Minesweeper
• Quick Ed (a character set editor for ST-compatible mouse, joystick, or Atari touch tablet)
• Digi-Studio digitized sounds/music package
• Issues 1-14 of the DGS News-Disk disk-based magazine
• Issues 15-19 of the DGS News-Paper printed magazine (scans of the original mags)
• Issues 20-26 of the DGS News-Paper-on-disk on-disk magazine
• News-Paper Yearly disk (to go with the News-Paper magazine - includes lots of Quick source code)
• Print-Filer from Rambit
• The AMS 1996 video in MPEG-1 format
• The full DGS PD Library (191 mostly double sided disks)
• Bonus Software: MyDOS 4.5, Discomm32, UTIL (PC utility to read/write 180K MyDOS Atari disks)

All products (except the News-Disk/Paper mags and Yearly Disk, and PD disks) come complete with full manuals which are scans of the originals, or newly edited versions. They are supplied on the CD in PDF format (the Adobe Acrobat Reader is required, free from Adobe). Print-Filer has the original on-disk manual. Some PD disks will have the original on-disk manuals. Manuals are in English only.

The PPP products are the International English versions, which vary slightly in content from the German versions. They also have the re-worked English manuals. German speaking customers should note that the original German versions are available elsewhere.

Please note these are old versions of the German products, not the International versions. The International versions on the CD have full English manuals. The old versions don't have any English help. Note: to run the old version of Quick, you need to type LOAD QUICK.COM when the prompt appears.

NOTE:

The PPP products (everything except Digi-Studio, the magazines, Print-Filer and the PD disks) do not run on the relatively rare 1200XL model. They do run fine in all PC emulators. The Digi-Studio package may not run on all emulators, but does run fine on all original Atari XL/XE machines.

The products are offered without support, but are all mature versions and have no known problems.

Please note that the CD is supplied in a plastic/paper wallet, with a small printed instruction sheet rather than a CD label. This is to reduce costs to offer them to you at this low price. CDs are secured with thick card for shipping to avoid damage.
