Croydon is bustling and one of the largest towns outside of London for both shopping and commercial office accommodation. Despite this it has long struggled to attain that WOW factor required to attract both business investment and customers. I worked in the centre of Croydon for about ten years and found the shopping facilities excellent, but I would not have wished to live in the borough. Fortunately the Tramlink tram service was completed in my final few years of work, which presented a fast and comfortable commute with my home in Beckenham.

Tramlink together with many other improvements shows that Croydon is at last getting things right and with other major developments in the pipeline the future looks good, perhaps eventually attaining city status.
