The Greater London borough of Bromley incorporates my home town town of Beckenham and is the largest London borough. It also includes Orpington, West Wickham, Crystal Palace, Cray Valley, Penge and Biggin Hill.

Bromley has the advantages provided by more than thirty-five square miles of protected countryside, picturesque parks, woodland and nature preserves. But is still only twelve miles away from the bright lights of London's West end, with excellent rail connections to Town. The borough is celebrated for its many tree lined residential streets and council maintained displays of bulbs, flower beds and baskets. All this makes a very attractive package for London Commuters and results in a very active property market, with resulting high property prices.

To cater for the many young commuters living in the borough there are a proliferation of modern pubs and restaurants covering every type of cuisine, together with a few clubs and the Churchill Theatre.

Shopping is well provided for with the modern "Glades" centre in Bromley High Street, plus many excellent shops and supermarkets situated in every small town high street.
