Danish Open

This, the first ever Danish Draughts tournament was held in Copenhagen over the weekend 6-7 May and  attracted a field of 6 players. The event was won by Donald Oliphant.

British Open

This event was played at the Town hall Stonehaven during the week beginning 17th July. The event was won by Mustapha Durdyev with 30 points. Second and third were Ron king 29 points and T watson 24 points.

World 3 move Qualifier

This event was played at the St Leonard's Hotel Stonehaven during the week following the British Open. Ron King emerged victorious over a field of 12 players to earn the right to challenge Alex Moiseyev for the World 3 move title.

English GAYP Championship

This event was played over the weekend 25-26 August as part of the MSO.    The event attracted a disappointing entry of just 6 players. D harwood won the event winning all his games. Second was Con McCarrick.

Bill Ball Memorial

This event was held at Longsight Library in Manchester on 9th September and was won by Eddie O'Gara. Second and third were Brian Lucas and Fred Buckby.

Welsh Open

This event was held in Knighton on 16-17 september and was won by Tony Boyle with Robin Jones and Liam Stephens tieing for second place.

German Open

This event was held in Reutlingen 30 Sept-1 Oct and was won by Lliam Stephens with Bernard Coll 2nd and Dennis Pawlek 3rd.

Irish Open

This was held in carlow 28 Oct-1 Nov and was won by Myles Hannigan.

Ronald Bumby Memorial

This event was held at Longsight Library manchester on 4th Nov. Brian Lucas won with Fred Buckby and Dafydd Roberts 2nd and 3rd.
