One of the facilities used commonly by the Corps are the rifle ranges that exist on most RAF Bases and MOD land. This allows you the opportunity to do target shooting under proper military regulations and supervision.

The Sqn has recently been to the ISCRM at Bisley due to the superb coaching of Flt lt G.Connoly. With all cadets that took part placing higher than the previous year, coming home with another cadet 100. The prospect looks good for the forthcoming season, with new cadets coming through, along with more experienced shooters.

You have the opportunity to shoot two types of rifle. The No.8 (.22) rifle and the L98 (.56).
Although, as with most of the activities we take part in there is absolutely no pressure put on you to shoot, if you don't want to then you don't have to.

All Shooters are highly supervised by trained Staff, and are coached to a high level as specified by the Royal Air Force
With a lot of practice it is possible for cadets to obtain their ATC and RAF Marksman Qualifications.
Or as this picture shows, if you are really good then you may get the chance to go to Bisley. Where in 1999 one of our cadets came Second overall
