Currently the Corps gliding program is very active having just recently undergone a massive overhaul and we have now been for quite some time the largest glider training organisation in the world

The new gliding scheme run in the Corps allows cadets to progress through their glider training upto solo pilot level, and teaches you all the skills you need along the way to be a good glider pilot.
First time out, as during the rest of your glider training we will explain everything you need to know.

Here one of our newer cadets is getting a guided tour of the cockpit.
It all tends to look at bit different from the pictures when you are actually sitting in the the cockpit ready to go.
UP UP and Away....
The prefered launch method is by winch, although powered gliders and aero tow launches are used in some situations
Once you in the air a normal glider fight can vary duration from a few minutes if you are simply doing a lap of the airbase, upto quite a while if you manage to catch some good thermals and you have time on your side.
Finally after your flight you'll be de-briefed and then start preparation for the next time you go up
