The Grob Tutor.

The reason most people give for joining the Air Cadets: The Flying.

The Corps currently takes cadets flying in the Grob Tutor Aircraft. This is a two seater, dual control propellor driven small aircraft and the pilot and cadet get to sit side by side.

As you can see, you will be kited out by trained fitters in all the latest flying equipment ready for your flight, including:

Flying Suit
Flying Gloves
Helmet-{with intercom}
Parachute

As being wonderfully modelled here by Cadet Deacon
Then comes the wait before your flight is called. You can normally sport the first timers by their nervous expressions!
You then get taken out and strapped into the Aircraft. Before taking part in a flight that usually lasts at least half an hour. During which time you may have the chance to take control {fully supervised, dual control} and maybe even experience aerobatics.
Then comes the moment you've been waiting for as you taxi to the end of the runway and disapear into the sunset

And in the old RAF tradition it's then back to base for Tea & Biscuits
{if you put them in your packed lunch, you are cadets after all}
