Reeve (J.M. Reeve in the newspaper) joined the 7th Bn South
Staffs in March 1915 was awarded the Military Medal in 1919. He was
recommended on two occasions by the C.O. 1st Army. On the first occasion, for
the way in which rifle fire was commanded in the Lens salient when surrounded
and in between the two lines, and on a second occasion in the attack on
Mammon-de-Mette.
Corporal REEVE was one of three brothers who answered the first call for men, and fought through the campaign, and the recipient of the Military Medal, who saw service first in Gallipoli, then in Egypt, and latterly in France, got through unwounded.
