The Old Manor House
The oldest part
of Crackenthorpe Hall. Recently refurbished, this fully equipped and completely
self contained part of Crackenthorpe Hall can be your very own Manor House
for a weekend. In splendid grounds, with private fishing
this Manorial home, with its many period features, including carved oak
beams and working window shutters, provides very comfortable centrally
heated accommodation for up to 12 people. The Manor is within 2 miles
of the attractive ancient market town of Appleby-in-Westmorland which
has an ancient Castle, Churches, a good range of shops, Inns and restaurants
plus an 18 hole golf course and indoor swimming pool. A host of other
activities and attractions are within easy reach.
Accommodation
Enter through a large Oak front door into The Jacobean Hall, with woodburning
stove and rugs on a strip oak floor. There is a separate dining room with
a large table for up to 13, and an open fire. The kitchen, is fully equipped
and set out in Farmhouse style; it has a large electric range style cooker,
microwave, dishwasher and washing machine. In addition, there is a full
set of crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils to facilitate catering for
up to 13 people. There is a separate cold store/pantry with freezer (excellent
for wine / beer storage). A splendid black oak staircase gives access
to the first floor, with two twin, one double bedroom and two bathrooms.
A narrow turning oak staircase leads to the second floor. Here, there
are two twin, one double, one single bedroom and one bathroom. Most bedrooms
have their own washbasins.
N.B. Due to the great age of the property, there are some uneven oak floors,
narrow stairs and low doorways.
