Worcestershire Postal Teams
The county has three teams. Two compete in the BCF tournament and one in the MCCU. Full length games start in the summer and last over the season. The slow tempo of play leads good players to explore highly theoretical opening variations, because it is difficult to force wins without producing very unbalanced positions. In the BCF tournament, the upper boards exchange moves by e-mail, which speeds up play and reduces costs. If you would like to play postal chess, please contact either Charles Gray or Dave Bissell using the links below.
BCF Postal Competitions
In these competitions, players have one game against an opponent who may represent any English county. The winning team in the Brown Pond competition is promoted to the Ward Higgs competition, replacing the relegated team in the higher division. The captain of the BCF sides is Charles Gray and he may be contacted by e-mail at CGray74571@aol.com or by telephone at 01684 574874. For pairings and results, use the buttons below.

MCCU Ritson Morry Postal Competition
In this competition, players have two games, one with the white pieces and one with the black against the same opponent. The competition is limited to players who represent MCCU counties. David Bissell is the captain and he would very much like to hear from Worcestershire players who would like to join the side. If you would like to play, please contact him as soon as possible in June. David may be contacted by e-mail at david.bissell@virgin.net or by telephone at 0121 352 0750.
