Worcester win on handicap because they fielded the lower graded side

Both sides fielded new players. Worcester City played two young men Robin and
Alistair from Worcester Blind College and Droitwich's board 5 is also a new player.
Tony Spittle and Arnold Kirkland exchanged both rooks early in the game, which started
with a French Defence the same opening chosen by Bert Foord. The remaining games
featured closed openings. After the openings, all the positions were balanced.
