Worcester Junior Chess Academy

10 & 11 April 2010. Three Worcestershire Juniors clean up over £200 at Stafford Congress. In the Staffs Minor (under 120) , the largest of the tournaments, Joseph Friar, won with 4½ from 5 drawing only with his older brother James. Although only 17th seed, Joe beat the number one seed in the last round. He also took out number two seed along the way. James Friar shared second prize with two draws and three wins. Kyle Reed, another member of the Academy, won the Junior prize.

23 Jan 2010 - Ashley Davis won the Club Championship for the third time

2009 - The Closed Worcestershire Junior Chess Championship was played in three mini-tournaments starting at 10am on 25th October 2008 (1pm finish), 29th November 2008 (1pm finish), and 11 April 2009 (3pm finish). The venue was at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church Hall, 10 Bransford Road, Worcester WR2 4EN .
