| City Club secretary appointed supremo of English chess 16 October - Andrew Farthing is the new Chief Executive Officer of the English Chess Federation. He previously served as their Strategic Planning Officer. This must be one of the hardest volunteer roles in any sport because keeping chess players in order is like herding cats. |
