Worcester Bishops third in District Division 1
24 Feb. After a volcanic start to the season, the Bishops have lost to Redditch, Droitwich and Malvern.
Worcester Pawns second in District Division 2
17 Feb, Pawns draw with leaders Headless Cross to keep in contention. The Pawns stumbled against Droitwich in the New Year and are now a point adrift from leaders Headless Cross.

City teams well placed in league tournaments
27 February - With over half of the fixtures played, City teams are placed 2nd in Division 1 of the the County League, the Bishops team is third in Worcester & District Division 1 and the Pawns second in Worcester & District Division 2.
City players save county from near annihilation
29 January - In Worcestershire's heavy defeat at the hands of Lincolnshire, three of the county wins were from City players: Ed Osbourn, Ray Collett and Peter Kitson.

City Club secretary appointed supremo of English chess
16 October - Andrew Farthing is the new Chief Executive Officer of the English Chess Federation. He previously served as their Strategic Planning Officer. This must be one of the hardest volunteer roles in any sport because keeping chess players in order is like herding cats.

New grading list shows most city players higher
