The Battle of Britain Memorial

London's new Battle of Britain memorial on the Embankment was unveiled by Prince Charles in September 2005. The monument is made up of two bronze friezes, set in a 25 metre-long granite structure, which depicts aspects of the Battle in the air and the back-up support from the people in London. The sculptor was Paul Day.
A bronze plaque carries the names and ranks of the airmen who took part in the battle and a small description of the events.
