The
Battle of Britain Memorial
London's
new Battle of Britain memorial on the Embankment was unveiled by Prince
Charles in September 2005. The
monument is made up of two bronze friezes, set in a 25
metre-long granite structure, which depicts aspects of the Battle in
the air and the back-up support from the people in London.
The sculptor was Paul Day.
A
bronze plaque carries the names and ranks of the airmen who took part
in the battle and a small description of the events.
