Music Leader - Devising and implementing Early Years and After School Club music workshops

Project Leader - S.E. Community Music Fireworks Project, a community based sound gathering and music composition project

Music and Disability Consultant - Drumsability, providing advice and adaptive solutions for drummers with disabilities, sourcing or designing and making equipment

1997 – 2004

National Equipment Officer - Drake Music Project

Technical support, equipment administration and operation, providing training in music technology, disability access research and development, website design and implementation.

1990 – 2005

Musician (Drums, Vocals) - Masse / AZYGY / Characteractoristics

Performing and recording music for theatre, film, dance and live art, clubs, festivals and multi-media events.

1981 – 1988

Studio Owner / Manager - Mr. Clean

Starting and running a recording and rehearsal studio.

1982 – 1983

Music Tutor - Linden Lodge School, Lewisham Music Academy

Teaching drumming to visually impaired pupils at Linden Lodge, and drumming and studio techniques at LMA youth centre.



ACHIEVEMENTS


  • Technical manager for the Drake Music Project of many high profile events including installations at the Science Museum and shows at the ICA and the Millennium Dome.

  • Created and produced theatrical performances of a dance piece – “Twins” - featuring the combination of a Laban Centre trained dancer, and a classically trained Indonesian dancer, with a music score incorporating elements from the Indonesian Gamelan and Wayang traditions.

Previous employment includes six years at the London School of Economics, rising to the position of Chief Computer Operator. I have worked as a Graphic Designer, and in 2001 designed and implemented the website for Sound It Out, the Birmingham based community music organisation.
