Issue One.

The first ever issue of Bob Lord’s Sausage went on sale on 9th August 1997 at Vicarage Road, Watford. A boiling hot day saw steady sales but an extra pint at the pub delayed the start of the selling by half an hour – with the obvious effect of lost sales. Not a bad start for a bunch of rookies, though.

Highlights of the edition:
A caustic prediction that Chris Waddle would be a failure in football management, a prediction that is spookily accurate.
Mr Tickle laments the demise of Hereford United and believes that the press gave them a rough deal compared with Brighton & Hove Albion.
Alastair Campbell reveals why Tony Blair is banned from watching Clarets matches.

Best Quote:
"The only food I could find was a hot dog and burger stand owned by an elderly Polish woman who looked like a cross between Granny Clampett and Granny Adams. A hot dog was ordered and then binned – it's texture being purest Dunlop."
Rupert Booth’s account of the Poland v England World Cup qualifier.
