The first ever issue of Bob Lords Sausage went on sale on 9th August 1997 at Vicarage Road, Watford. A boiling hot day saw steady sales but an extra pint at the pub delayed the start of the selling by half an hour with the obvious effect of lost sales. Not a bad start for a bunch of rookies, though.
Highlights of the edition:
A caustic prediction that Chris Waddle would be a failure in football management, a prediction that is spookily accurate.
Mr Tickle laments the demise of Hereford United and believes that the press gave them a rough deal compared with Brighton & Hove Albion.
