The base storyline is still set after Earth's biggest and very much final war. After an attempted invasion by an alien power, and the whole of the free people of Earth having to pull together from necessity, a new world government was formed. This was to be democratically elected by the people for the people, and to avoid corruption was overseen by another outworld Power, the Alliance of Federated Free Worlds. All prior Earth governments were dissolved, with each country now being overseen by a democratically elected council. With Oil no longer the economic driving force it was before the invasion, due to new sources of fuel arriving. The superpowers such as the US and China lost their hold on power, terrorism became obsolete and the former terrorists realising that Earth was now ruled to a new order, gave up their arms and took to the ballot box instead. Although religion still exists on post-Alluran Earth it carries less weight, especially in the political arena.
We pick up the story shortly after the war, in 2009, it's July, and Landmark airlines run by one of the outworlders is doing okay.
My flights use Radar Contact 4, FSPassengers and FSHotseat for crew/passenger and ATC interaction. I use ActiveSky V6 for real world weather. Scenery is enhanced by FSGlobal for mesh and Ultimate Terrain and FScene for land areas. Night enhancements are provided by Night Environment Pro.
Below are some shots of my current mount, the PMDG Express Beech 1900D. These shots were taken on a flight from Great Falls to Billings Logan, a route covered normally by Big Sky Airlines in reality. As a member of AirSource: www.air-source.us I use their site to obtain and PIREP almost all my flights. At the moment on FSPassengers partly through choice I am still only C3, soon to be C4 and then can legitimately fly Turboprops. I really should have the hours, but after a series of mishaps I restarted my pilot (not really a cheat as he was not killed) and so am now trying really hard not to make the same errors as before. The FSPax display is the small blue strip, as you can see the pax are really happy (100%) and are being fed, drinks are also being served at this time. The larger display is RC4, replacing the normal ATC on my flights for a much more realistic and enjoyable experience.
In the next shot you can see we have started our descent into Billings Logan, there are 21 minutes left on the clock so it's ticking away, but with only 32 miles to go this was no problem and we arrived bang on schedule at the gate. Although it was getting dark the sun still had not quite set when we arrived at KBIL.
Okay since the last update we've gone up a level in FSPax, now C5 but flying ATR's. The two shots below are from a standard run between GEG and SEA and the return run. both the shots below are taken at the gate. The top shot from SeaTac is using FlyTampa version of that airport. Spokane is the default version.
