Boulton St. Mary's together with St. Peter's Chellaston, St. Edmund's Allenton, St. Michael's, Alvaston and St. Osmund's, Wilmorton form Mission and Ministry Area 55 within the Diocese of Derby.

Mission and Ministry Areas are being established by the Church of England under a project called Renewing Ministry. The purpose is to ensure the continuation of our Christian faith and provide opportunities for prayer and worship whilst meeting the needs of the parochial community in the reality of life facing the Church in the 21st century.
