From June 1st 2002 to June 7th 2002,
Clare and I went with relatives to the good old US of A.
We've been twice before, and been through 14 states so far - camping / hiking
/ seeing the sites etc. Superb Place.
This trip though was a birthday treat for Clare's mum and her sister-in-law's
mum. We took them to Las Vegas in Nevada - and if any of you have bee there
before, you'll know it's not a place associated with Hiking.
However, we cramed much into the few days... starting with a minor emergency
on the plane - in which a passenger collapsed and following calls from the
crew for anyone with medical knowledge, Clare (being a nurse) had to go and
do the hero bit. I was SO proud of her for doing it - and the bloke involved
should be too.
The captain on the other hand was a complete TWAT! - and I emphasise that
here deliberately.
McCarran Airport is a good destination - Virgin Airlines were good and fly
direct from Gatwick (about 10 hours flight there) - over Iceland/Greenland
etc so you can get some good views if sat near the window).
So - piccies and stuff here about the following:
Bryce Canyon National Park - Utah
Zion Canyon National Park - Utah
Hire a Machine Gun - Las Vegas
