Plas y Brenin [PYB] National Mountain Centre - is run by the Mountain Training Trust on behalf of the sports council.
They are based in Capel Curig in Wales, in view of the Snowdon horseshoe and offer courses in Hillwalking, Climbing, Canoeing, Mountain Skills, Winter Skills, Leadership courses and much much more.

 

The courses are run by some of the top names in the country - an impressive staff who have an excellent sense of humour and who ensure you get the most out of your stay with them.
Courses range from single or two day events to week long residential courses that, believe me, will give you your moneys worth!
Clare and I recently booked onto the course Rock Climbing - Under your own Steam - a five day course based at Plas y Brenin in Wales. Neither of us had climbed before, but by the end of the week I was leading Severe climbs in the Ogwen Valley and Clare was seconding V-diff and Severe. Read MORE...
We enjoyed the Rock Climbing course so much that we have decided to attend the Scottish Winter Mountaineering course based at "Alltshellach" in Glencoe. This is run by PYB through the winter months along with other winter based courses such as Ice Climbing (which we will do next year)
