Venue: Wales
Date: 13th April 2002

Description: A single day visit to the Ogwen Valley to climb Milestone Buttress. A change of plan took us on a circular route to the top of Glyder fawr via the Y Gribin arete - starting with an excellent climb; Gribin Facet via the Slab Intermediate Climb (Pitch 1- VDiff) to a nice stance behind a boulder, then via the Slab Climb (D) straight up the exposed slab over the steep face. (Total 180 feet)
The crag doesn't see much sun until later in the day and the first pitch (which is the hardest) was quite cold for both climber and belayer. Route quite polished in places.

Big Thanks to Bernadine and Steve for an excellent meal and stay, and to Andy for driving.

Apart from having to lug all the gear, doing a circular route which takes in a bit of climbing, scrambling and walking makes for a superb day.
<<< The route on Gribin Facet. The orange circles are sensible belay points (unless you have a 60m rope) - in which case you can miss out belay two and proceed to the final belay at the top.
First pitch is VDiff - the rest is Diff.
Tryfan in the exceptionally clear morning light. An almost cloudless sky promised a good day.
