1.5.1.2 Esther Irene Bauhahn. c.24 March 1898 6pm-22 March 1990. Teacher. Never married. Undated letter to Maurice: "Dear Maurice, I ran out of paper because of the copying of mamma's story of her visions. Elmer, your father, was about two months old. I was at my Grandma Petersons and went to school. My sisters came and told me to go home which I did. No one knew how ill she/mother was. My older sister Marion took the trolley to Holland H.S. I was only twelve. Elmer was so precious that I had never been allowed to care for him but I did the best I could until my aunt, Tina P., took care of a butcherd pig & came to help after four days. I was the one who stood at mother's bed to get instructions. I have copied only the pertinent facts about the visions from her letters. Henry Bauhahn emigrated to U.S. in spring of 1851 after a stormy voyage of 12 weeks. He went to N.Y. once to see his brothers. God bless you Aunt Irene." Irene Bauhahn was born 24 March 1989 to Alvin and Ida Bauhahn in Gibson, Laketown Township, Allegan County. She graduated from Holland High School as valedictorian of the class of 1915.
