40th Charter

Reading Valley Ladies Circle celebrated their 40^th Charter at a Charity Ladies Luncheon on the 6th Feb 2005. Sixty ladies attended from Basingstoke, Maidenhead, Reading, Reading Valley, Turriff & District, Twyford, Wallingford and Wantage circles, and Henley and Reading Valley Tangent. We also had a circler from Vienna. We were pleased to welcome National President Morag Daley, although we didn't make her give a speech!

As part of the 40th Charter celebrations we invited all past Chairmen to take part in a candle lighting ceremony. Past members talked about "the good old days" and current members made us laugh, especially with the Llama trekking story! Morag presented Fiona with a lovely carved wooden plate celebrating her year in the Presidency. Each guest at the function received a commemorative engraved champagne glass.

The Renaissance Reading Hotel provided a lovely venue for this lively and fun event. We raised approx £400 for the Berkshire Air Ambulance.
