Thomas Procter Balshaw, 1863-1948

Born.

25th May 1863 at Moor Lane Swinton, Worsley, Lancashire, son of Revd Robert Balshaw and Mary Anne.  Have certificate.

Thomas P was a ward of  Revd. George Bowden at the 1881 census, aged 17, living at 7 Southfield Road, Westbury On Trym, Gloucestershire.

Occupation.

Not known.  It is possible that he appears on the 1901 census as a soap maker, living in Westhoughton, Lancs, aged 37.  His place of bith is transcribed as "Lancashire . . . " which is not much help.  Alternatively, he may already have died in Portsea - see below.

Married

Possibly married June quarter 1913 in Blackburn.  Bride's surname "Irving".  No children appear to have been registered with this name as the mother's maiden name. This either means that they had no children or that she had been married before and Irving was not her maiden name, but her married name.

Died.

Either died in Portsea in 1899, Procter Balshaw, age 36 or

Thomas P Balshaw died in Blackburn in the March quarter of 1948, aged 86.
