Electricity Meter reader for Nottingham Corporation, emptying electricity meters until WW2, and returned to it after the war until his back caused him too much difficulty. He probably got this job through his Boy's Brigade Connections.
RAF in WW2, stationed at Pannal (near Harrogate), Kirkham (near Blackpool), but invalided out in about 1944 with back problems.
Warden of the East Nottingham Boys Club (20th Boys Brigade).
1947, Tixover Grange Boys' Approved School as Housemaster. School closed about 1954.
1954, Boreatton Park School, Shropshire, as Housemaster. Retired early, about 1962 due to ill health.
