What is the origin of the name "Balshaw"?
Misc. early references to the name "Balshaw".
Balshaws on the IGI in Cheshire (1992) as an Acrobat file. None of them are related to me in any way as far as I know.
Balshaw's School, Leyland, Lancashire, founded by Richard Balshaw 1725 to 1811.
There is a Balshaw Farm, on Drumacre Lane West, Longton, near Preston. If you know anything about the Balshaw connection its owner would be interested to hear from you. E-mail Steve.

Iain Balshaw seems to be a famous rugby player. I think he plays for Bath and England. Not being very interested in sport I haven't followed his career in detail and don't know anything about his ancestry.
