The festival of Suns Dawning was hosted by Baron Lachlann at Dal Riada in northern Cymrja. The festival is a celebration of the ending of the cold and dark of the winter and the coming of warmth and light of spring although many there commented that they thought the chill of winter was still present in the ground.

The Friday night was taken up in the tradition one would associate with any event hosted by the Erin Court, drinking and singing till the early hours.

On the Saturday morning the guests gathered for the annual pilgrimage to the Nine Ladies stone circle and the ritual of the Suns Dawning itself. Initially this was supposed to be at dawn but the effects of the revelries of the previous nights delayed this somewhat. A procession of some one hundred people eventually made the half hour journey for the ritual. There the ritual of the Suns Dawning was performed and five swords were enchanted to give them power to defeat the unliving.

On the Saturday the Grand tourney was held. The prize was to be a manor house, lands and all titles to go with it. The tourney was carried out under Erin rules, fight to win using whatever methods necessary. The tourney took the form of a grand melee of teams of six. The surviving team would then fight it out amongst themselves in a series of one on one duels until only one, the victor remained.

The Grand tourney took some considerable time with the Chaos Warrior Mayhem joining in on his own team uninvited. His main goal seemed to be to break up anything which was getting too orderly, shield walls being his main target. The competition was eventually won by one of Baron Lachlann's own men.

Later in the day Mayhem caused more trouble. Lady Karlennon had arrived for the afternoon with her bodyguards and Mayhem expressed in interest in the Sword of Wayland one of them carried, a sword he attempted to take from them by force and was met with equally determined resistance.

For those interested in some more physical entertainment there was also a wrestling competition before the pig roast and obligatory heavy drinking and merrymaking in the evening.

In the afternoon an attempt was made on the life of Owain Caradog. The culprit is suspected to be Dimitri of the communists. Whoever it was managed to get Owain alone and actually succeeded in removing his head, a condition which is usually fatal. However Tel Falcon was on hand and miraculously managed to re-attach it and Owain appears to have suffered no ill effects.

Lady Ailish O'Donovan was voted "Maid of the Festival" but politely declined her prize (a night with Lord Fig) saying she believed a lady should be a virgin on her wedding night.

The sunday was a quiet affair with many hangovers to be recovered from.
