Example 1 - Dress for small woman (Chest 34 in, Length 60 in)

The Pattern.

Dress 02

The neck is small with a from slit. The sleeves are widened by taking the triangles from the wrist ends and sewing them into the shoulder ends as gussets. There are gores at the sides, front and back. For economy the body is cut as 2 pieces with a shoulder seam rather than being a single piece.

Dimensions are in cm the dimensions of the gores are for the rectangle before the diagonals are cut.

Making up.

1 - Stitch the shoulder seams.

2 - Hem the neck hole and slit.

3 - Stitch the triangles to the sleeves and then sew the sleeves onto the body.

Dress 03

4 - Sew up the straight edges of the front and back gores and then sew them into the dress.

5 - Sew the sloping edges of the side gore to the body of the dress.

Dress 04

6 - Sew the sides of the dress and the sleeve seams in one seam.

7 - Hem the sleeves and the bottom of the skirt straightening up and shortening as needed.
