Fine example of a Dioula woman's ceremonial wrapper cloth from Kong or neighbouring towns of north Ivory Coast and southern Burkina Faso. A more limited range of Dioula supplementary weft float motifs on two distinct patterns of  hand spun cotton indigo dyed strips, with a red border strip in imported thread.  Machine embroidered hem at top end. In excellent condition, date mid C20th.
