Beautiful and complex Ewe man's cloth with clusters of very neatly woven figurative designs executed using the supplementary weft float technique on a ground cloth made up of three distinct warp striped patterns in soft muted colours. The weft float motifs are in pairs of identical or similar designs and include combs, keys, knife and fork, birds, animals, various plants, hats etc. Unusually the cloth also has a distinctly decorated edge strip at the lower border with a complex zigzag weft float pattern. This complete and intact cloth is in excellent condition, dates from circa 1930-50.
