A radically different and rather rare style of akunitan these cloths were made by replacing the embroidery with appliqué. Once again the motifs are proverbial allusions to Asante royal power, including in this case various birds and animals, a hand, crossed alligators, a royal stool etc.  Although the technique is perhaps crude the overall impact of this piece is graphic and striking. Like the other style this cloth would have been worn by a king or chief on ceremonial occasions. In excellent condition, dates from circa 1960s.
