Fine version of the "jubilee" design, among the rarest and most sought after of the classic adire eleko designs. First made in a stencilled version with the central image of a king and queen drawn from colonial imagery distributed to mark the jubilee of King George V in 1935, later more elaborate versions such as this were drawn freehand and included multiple animals and people around the central image. The text translates as "nothing is greater than God." There is a small stitched repair at lower right in the photo (and shown in second detail picture) and a few tiny holes in this well used cloth. In great condition. It dates to around the 1950s to 1960s.
