in Britain: Common
This is a very common species on the branches of trees and shrubs in Wales. It forms neat, rounded cushions usually with abundant capsules. The leaves are long and narrow, with a nerve running their entire length, and are characteristically curled and crisped when dry . The immature capsules are capped with a notably hairy cap or "calyptra". |
