Status
in Britain: Nationally Scarce
As its specific name implies, this liverwort is tiny, with each of
its leaves only about 0.25 of a millimetre long. The leaves occur in two
rows, and each leaf is lobed and folded to form a shape like two hands
cupped and placed together (see inset). This arrangement may facilitate
water retention.
