| Cors Caron, otherwise known
as Cors Goch Glanteifi ("the red bog on the banks of the
Teifi") lies a few kilometres to the North of the market town
of Tregaron in Ceredigion. It is one of the two remaining large remnants
of active raised bog in Wales. As such it is
an important refuge for a wide range of plants (including mosses).
It also supports a wide range of insects and other invertebrates,
as well as a number of birds and mammals, and is protected as National
Nature Reserve, owned and managed by the Countryside
